Plan Compartir

Pastoral: Compartir is a pastoral plan drawn to support the evangelization. We usually tend to consider support in monetary terms and that evangelization is opposite and even divorced from it. Most of the times, this line of reasoning leads to many obvious difficulties.

Compartir proposes to “reconcile” pastoral work with monetary support, to consider both as only one. Therefore, the Plan becomes a tool to support each community’s evangelizing activities because it is part of the Community’s pastoral plans.

Comprehensive: It works simultaneously on several aspects of the parish’s and dioceses’ community life. Good Catechism should go together with gestures of solidarity in and to the community. Collection is good when the result is transparently reported. Compartir’s efficiency depends on joint work. Our proposal embodies all members of the community i.e. pastors, councils, teams, institutions, and lay people. Everybody is called to participate in their places. Compartir should reach all.

Tailored: Each community is aware of its strengths and weaknesses, and knows how to work. Although there are some common goals, each diocese and parish should customize the proposal to better suit their needs. When Compartir is not customized, it is experienced as something external or imposed, or it can become a parallel structure overlapping another.

Gradual: The plan should be implemented gradually. Dioceses join it at a time. Once it works at the dioceses’ level, parishes gradually join in and so do the institutions working at parish level.

This demands for carefully planning, and respect for community’s processes and time.

Compartir should be the fruit of a community decision. Each parish and dioceses should tread their own road.

- Pastors who want to implement the Program should be convinced of the proposal, have time to foster it and favor lay people's effective participation.

- Lay people who lead the plan should work close to the clergy and Councils, be creative and proactive. They should also be able to empower the different teams working in the parish or dioceses (catechesis, liturgy, etc).

- All together should decide on the priorities Compartir should work on, where it can work better and how to integrate the proposa with their own pastoral plans.

- Good communication flow will allow all Community to understand that Compartir is for all and with all, because the Community is working towards this goal.
